A Recall to Arms

I became very disillusioned with foreign languages due to the actions of one dickhead, Karim Menacere. Let me elucidate. This cunt told me that an exam would be too hard for me and basically called me an idiot. I am five figures in debt for this fucking idiot. I worked my way up from care just for this worthless arrogant wanker to squat, spread his ass cheeks and shit on six years of my life. The reason this cunt called me an idiot is that at my time in my life I couldn’t afford a digital camera to take photographs of a picture and call it critique of translation. I sadly let dickhead put me off foreign languages for a very long time. This year I trained under Alexandre Coutu who taught me French to English translation. Alexandre was supportive and I actually got something for my money! I have an unending supply of work. I am having another go at studying foreign languages again and won’t have some daft cunt like Karim Menacere putting me off. To make a comparison between Karim and a good academic we Have John Redmond who is a poetry professor at Liverpool University who I know socially through a chess club. He praised me for improving at chess and even signed a book he wrote for my Mother! How much am I in debt for John Redmond? Not one penny. My study of Arabic has just started in full and I can read the script. My study of kanji didn’t help as much as I thought it would which was quite surprising. Kanji characters are very different to the Arabic script and this really surprised me. I have learnt all the medium characters and am moving forward. An idiot once advised me that you should never use study pieces written in Romanised script and I consider this to be absolute nonsense. I am starting to look at the Arabic Verbal System today as well as studying vocabulary with Anki. I am going to move on to a more oral study of Arabic with Linguaphone and Assimil. In the past I have tended to focus on the written aspects of language.

Arabic day 2

I got linguaphone Arabic today and I am listening to it. I am aiming at using as many resources as possible. I am going to get Assimil and listen to that as that is supposed to be the best possible resource. Throughout my career as a linguist I have focused on the written language, and I am focusing on the oral and aural aspects now.

Learning Arabic

I am learning Arabic. I have taken a break from actually studying any foreign languages after I completed my training with Alexandre Coutu who is one of the most senior linguists in Canada last year. My proudest achievements in linguistics are passing tests with translation agencies and copywriting my own language learning tools. As I have alluded to before, the academic system diminished a great deal of my interest in foreign languages as I felt the whole thing screwed me over. Over the next few days I am planning on reading an Arabic grammar book and forming my study plan. I am aiming at downloading massive amounts of Arabic audio files and listening to them on my mp3 player. Things to do today: Fix my laptop Read several articles on Arabic Grammar Download freely available Mp3 files on English to Arabic
